The equipment:
Introducing Electric RC helicopters that can do a variety of tasks. This camera mount pictured above is truely a wonder! Designed and built by HeliCam.com of Texas. It is gyro stabilized in the pan and tilt axis so that once pointed to a location on the ground it will hold it's spot until commanded to a new position - regardless of what the helicopter is doing! The green skids on the bottom rotate up in flight to give the HD video camera 360 degrees of unobstructed rotation.

Announcing zoom control on the Panasonic HD cam. This will allow us to control zoom while in flight for even greater flexibility.

These 26 '' rotor span helicopters are capable of lifting 3W video transmitters and will broadcast from up to 1/2 mile away! We use these smaller helicopters to practice on and get into tight spots and then switch to the larger helicopter.

The larger helicopter here is outfitted with a gyro stabilized gimbal holding a Panasonic HD video camera as mentioned above. This setup requires two people to operate. One to fly the helicopter and one to control the camera position. The camera will be able to rotate freely 360 degrees and operate independent of the helicopter direction. This setup allows us to get 'boom-crane' type shots at almost any location.

This is the FM video downlink equipment that we use to view real-time camera position.
Starting on the left is the receiver powered by a 11.1V lipo battery. This video signal is then fed into the box for the video goggles. The whole setup is mobile and is built into a fanny-pack for the cameraman to wear. On the right is the 2W 1.2GHz transmitter that will feed the view directly from the Panasonic HD camera right to the ground. This setup will allow the cameraman to see exactly what the camera is pointed at.

For high altitude images up to 400 feet AGL we use an electric powered glider. This glider can also be sent out over a target to get straight down (nader) images or horizon shots from a high perspective.

For those projects where access to the site is sound sensitive we have the Kite Aerial Photography (KAP) rig. Where large crowds might be sensitive to a helicopter overhead and a good steady wind prevails we can launch the KAP rig and get the shots you need!
